New video player design

Hey all - I am playing around with a new video player design. Kind of a motion graphicsy kinda thing. I will keep this image updated but comment or email any feedback. Time for a bike ride and a few min away from this humming computer whatsit.
FYI - That is a priceless pic of my buddy Jon (one of the coolest and interesting dudes on this planet Earth). It would be a crime not to use that image.
I like the look… the question is can you make it usable? Of course I am a big fan of your style.
Well, the good news for me is that I am not going to finish this design. So we can call this just a fun exercise with a different style. Because nobody is ever going to use the design, and because I can pretend like I have an idea as to how amazingly usable I could make it, I can gladly say that this would be the most usable design ever! In the words of Comic Book Store Guy… “Most usable design EVER.”
